HELLO!
SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE.

I'm Sophia, I work from my garden studio in Suffolk, UK and I make functional, beautiful pottery designed to make those everyday moments of pause, relaxation and slowing down a little more special.
I was so excited to find I could make physical, functional objects from the most basic material and, knowing I’d found my thing, I went on to study 3D design at university.
Though introduced to the idea of full time pottery here, it hadn’t left me with the hands on skills I needed; I hadn’t learned how to throw or make glazes and had little idea about how to run a business.
Itook some time out, trained instead as a secondary school art teacher and in a lovely, full circle moment I taught the same ceramics course in the same school that first sparked my passion for pottery.
I built my garden studio with savings and from this new space I spent a couple of years teaching myself to throw, make glazes and build skill.
I eventually reached a style and quality I was happy with and finally released my work to the world in July 2020.
Since then I’ve been constantly refining my work, expanding the collection and making wonderful connections with other small businesses and incredible customers.
It's a retreat where you can recharge and reenergise, and that part of that comfort comes from being surrounded by objects that enrich those every day rituals and routines. I strive to make pieces that you want to reach for; I believe they can and should be both functional and beautiful.
The studio surroundings are a constant source of inspiration, particularly when it comes to my colour palette.
Each glaze recipe has been formulated from scratch and is unique to me, meaning you won't find these exact finishes and colours anywhere else.
Every glaze is mixed by hand from a unique blend of minerals and oxides and draws on the colours and textures of the ever changing landscape outside the studio windows.
